Michelle Whitlock
Professional experience
Michelle is an experienced Mental Health Social Worker, with additional experience in Human Resources Management and Leadership. She has worked across health, hospital, ‘for purpose’ and government organisations, and has expertise in delivering online workplace training, including Vicarious Trauma, as well as providing individual and group reflective supervision.
Michelle supports clients with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, loss and grief, parenting, family and relationship issues, stress, burnout, self-care, work-related concerns, life transitions and health and wellbeing. She has a special interest in supporting people living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and Specific Learning Disorders, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia.
Michelle works with adults across the lifespan, as well as children, young people, families and couples. She uses evidence-based approaches including Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), tailoring her approach to each client’s needs.
Michelle builds strong therapeutic relationships through an empathetic, non-judgmental, person-centred and strengths-based approach, working collaboratively with clients to support
positive change.
