Professional experience

Sharne is an experienced Mental Health Social Worker with over 15 years of practice across therapeutic and support focused roles. She has extensive experience working with adults, families and children facing complex life challenges, drawing on a strong background in mental health, trauma recovery, parenting support, and family systems. Her practice is grounded in strength based and trauma informed frameworks, supporting individuals to navigate adversity and create meaningful, sustainable change.

With deep expertise in family violence intervention, Sharne has worked with both victim survivors and individuals who use violence, delivering behaviour change interventions that are compassionate, respectful, and outcomes focused. She brings significant capability in risk assessment and management relating to mental health concerns, substance use, relationship conflict, and safety planning.

Sharne supports adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the ongoing impacts of stress. She uses a range of evidence based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness based interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Somatic Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). While trained in child specific modalities such as play therapy, these approaches are used thoughtfully and only where clinically appropriate.

Sharne is committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic environment. She works alongside clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and support their capacity to achieve lasting, meaningful change in their lives.
