Professional experience
Lenore is a highly experienced Mental Health Social Worker with over 28 years of professional practice in psychological and family counselling. She has supported adolescents, adults, and older adults across a wide range of emotional, relational, and mental health concerns. Her career spans diverse settings – including local government, health services, Headspace, educational institutions, and private practice – giving her a deep understanding of the varied challenges individuals and families face across the lifespan.
Lenore’s therapeutic approach is grounded in a strengths‑based and solution‑focused perspective.
She draws upon extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma‑Informed care, and Interpersonal Therapies. She is also trained in the Nurtured Heart Approach, a powerful framework that supports parents in building stronger, more positive relationships with their children.
In addition to her core therapeutic modalities, Lenore incorporates evidence‑based Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping), mindfulness strategies, and practical relaxation and breathing exercises. These tools are particularly effective for clients experiencing stress, trauma, anxiety, anger, grief, depression, sleep difficulties, low self‑esteem, concentration problems, fatigue, and relationship challenges. Her integrative approach enables clients to develop both emotional insight and practical skills that support long‑term wellbeing.
Having learnt German and experienced total immersion in another language and culture, Lenore is sensitive to the challenges for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her extensive life experience, warm presence, and holistic therapeutic style make her a trusted and compassionate support for clients seeking meaningful change.
